The Slender Man Wiki

What is he?

So, i took a long time to bring this together, between the investigation and some personal issues... i had little time to actually write so... As always, I am open to feedback, suggestions and corrections so please, feel free. This is going to be long so if you actually expect to read this... go get a cookie.

Investigation Phase 1: The origin of the legend.

It's not a new that his origin lies in old German tales about the monster that would take bad children. Thypical mad-dad bedtime story. The wikia page quotes:

"Slenderman has no exactly defined or specified history, however contributors have placed early sightings of Slenderman-like beings in early 1600s Germany and before, where it took the dress of a knight or royal figure. Germanic fairy tales and mythology also makes use of the creatures to be used as cautionary tales for children.

Photographs from the early 1900s were the next confirmed reports, where imagery of Slenderman can be found in classical black and white and sepia imagery. Reports from this time indicate sightings in America, the UK, and Russia, as well as reports of child disappearances.

By the mid-1900s, some rare run-ins occurred in the war zones in Germany, apparently Slenderman's native land. Soldiers were the primary targets here. In America and Canada, reports of missing skiers and children appeared, coming from forested areas of the nations. [...]

Death of the victim originally occurred through an odd means- the victim would be impaled on branches of very tall trees while still alive, and bleed to death. The organs would be individually removed, then placed in plastic bags. They would then be replaced into the body in their original positions, plus the plastic bags. The victims' corpses do not show any sign of a struggle. As time has gone on, this practice has seemingly been abandoned."

On other page in the "Slender Man in Mythology and Culture"  It is suggested that Slender could be a Fairy (A theory which I actually support) so that could mean that Slender is not from the same realm as humans. Faries are magic creatures, not from the same order as Metas (Humans in this case) Which means that their characteristics are totally diferent. The Meta order is a Phisical order but Fairies are not. Fairies are a "Magic" order and this means that unlike humans, they are able to funcion in diferent realms. The Fairies have a unique trait, they are amog the orders with biggest variety in properties. Each individual has diferent characteristics, going from the physical apearance to their "Powers".

But, since this blog entry is not "Explanation of the Faries" let's say that the being we know as slender is not a Fairy but something else. From the aviable data we know that slender can:

  1. Teleport (OR move really fast)
  2. Select those who can see him
  3. Change his Phisical appearance (Without much variation)
  4. Control Minds (Not sure how nor if he can actually do this)

So let me try to explain these skill ok? (Try as this is only my speculation)

Let's say he can teleport. How is this posible? Well, Since he/it can also choose who can see him/it and he can change his appearance, we could say he is not in this realm/Dimension (Not sure how it's called). A friend of mine suggested that his/it's appearance is only the physical representation of an essence, that he is maybe not even phisical, but the way our mind tries to show to us that something is there. He also suggested that the tentacle growth was only the representation of the mind going into "that" other realm. This is not what I believe it doesn't hurt to mention it. Anyway, his multi-realm pressence would explain most of his skills, as for "Why" he abducts kids and some adults, well, I'm still working on that. I feel like I've lost track.... Anyway, i've been having some werd feeling since i've started searching for explanations and information about this. I guess that's fear right there. I've been looking for information with my friends and the more i find out, the more i think that "It" actually exists. I wonder if i've become obsessed...

Whatever, my next wannabe investigation log will be about his/it's reasons. I don't know when, hopefully soon.

As before, I beg for corrections, I really want to hear where i got it wrong so i can correct it and get on the right track again.
