Sorry for the delay, I had to assist to the weding of my cusin. Anyway, This time, the Subject is "The obsession" as in what I may be suffering right now in my efforts to know the slenderman's truth. At least I'm not drawing any symbols for no apparent reason. Well, anyway let's get started:
The Obsessioin as this wiki's page explains is one of the symthoms of the Illnes caused by the slenderman's appearance. My main focus is to try to explain why and how this is possible. FIrst let's go with the question "Why does the Obsession ocurs in the first place?" Well, let's remember Slenderman, whether or not he is a dimentional being changes nothing. We know for a Fact he/it has mental control over his victims, this control is reduced to suggestions.Those that have not seen him show signs of suffering the Obsession days or weeks before encountering this being. The slenderman's mind control is more like an indoctrination proces. It is an insidious mean of corrupting people's minds, "reprogramming" the brain through physical and psychological conditioning using electromagnetic fields, infrasonic and ultrasonic noise, and other subliminal methods. The Slenderman's resulting control over the limbic system leaves the victim highly susceptible to its "suggestions" (Given through his limb/tentacle's movements. I think he comunicates using the movement of these instead of a verbal mean, this giving also the ability to comunicate through subliminal methods translated through the mind. A masterpice indeed).
Those undergoing indoctrination may complain of headaches and buzzing or ringing in their ears (Side effect of the ultrasonic noise which also creates the sound distortion in the video tapes). As time passes, they have feelings of "being watched" and hallucinations of "ghostly" presences (Side effect of the electromagnetic fields that also creates the video distortion). Ultimately, the Slenderman gains the ability to use the victim's body to amplify its signals, manifesting as ghostly voices in the mind. That is how proxies are born. And that is too their purpose.
Indoctrination can create perfect deep cover agents. His/it's "suggestions" can manipulate victims into betraying friends, trusting enemies, or viewing the Slenderman itself with superstitious awe.
Long-term physical effects of the manipulation are unsustainable. Higher mental functioning decays, ultimately leaving the victim a gibbering animal. Rapid indoctrination is possible, but causes this decay in days or weeks. Slow, patient indoctrination allows the thrall to last for months or even years.
I hope this is enough investigation to satisfy your mind.
