I'm trying to get around to it. I feel as if the only way we are going to revive this Mythos is to create the third game. However, I envision something more like a Slender Man reboot rather than a third installment to the Slender video game series.
Sure it would. I have a feeling the chances for a new Slenderman-Game were drastically reduced after Waukesha.
Now all the companies have to be scared of backlash if they implement Slendy into their games, and while controversy can benefit big companies, it can also kill smaller studios like BlueIsles and all the others to which Slenderman would be profitable.
That leaves the Indie-Developers, who have mostly moved on from the Slenderman-Hype and probably wouldn't make a game like Arrival, anyway, but something like The Eight Pages. And the demad for games like The Eight Pages is mostly satisfied.
If they wanted to make a new game, they'd have to A) be a company that is either big enough to take on the critiques or operates from a country with little connection to the USA and a small number of Moral Guardians B) they'd have to feel like they can make some real Profit (Capital P) with this, which most likely would require C) a brandnew approach to Slenderman. Because I don't think doing the same style of game again would work well enough, at this point. Slenderman, as a character, can still be interesting and cool, but to the general public, the Slenderman-Games they have suffice. And the fanbase isn't big enough to cash in on.
Yeah, these kinds of things most likely would kill whom ever was trying to make it. Profit is a big thing and if there is any chance that they won't or a to small amount of profit they most likely won't do it.
